We’re a high-performing small team that thrives on collaboration, professionalism, and results. Now, we’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Store Manager who shares our passion for customer satisfaction and retail excellence.

About the Role

As our Assistant Store Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the store — supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, leading by example, and ensuring our customers enjoy a first-class retail experience.

You’ll work closely with both retail consumers and trade and industry professionals, offering tailored solutions, expert advice, and the kind of service that keeps people coming back.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

• Deliver sales performance personally and by identifying opportunities to support team members to achieve targets.

• Deliver outstanding customer service — from first greeting, to quote and follow-up, to the final sale — ensuring every customer leaves satisfied.

• Maintain high merchandising and store presentation standards, ensuring products are well-displayed and stock is managed efficiently.

• Assist in staff training, coaching, and development.

• Build strong relationships with both retail customers and trade clients (builders, tilers, designers, and renovators).

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A strong team player – thrives in a small, high-performing environment.

• Sales-driven and customer-focused – determined to go the extra mile to close a sale and delight every customer.

• Experienced in retail – ideally with exposure to both consumer and trade client sales through a building supply or adjacent industry.

• A confident communicator – able to engage with a diverse range of customers and lead by example.

• Organised and hands-on – comfortable managing multiple priorities while keeping the store running smoothly.

• Motivated and proactive – ready to take ownership and contribute ideas to improve store performance.
